The Konkordia Mels Music Society performed a gala concert on 8 January 2022 to celebrate the opening of the Verrucano Culture and Congress Centre. Under the direction of Christian Marti, the Konkordia proved with the gala concert that the Verrucano is fully capable of meeting the very high demands placed on a successful concert venue.<\/p>\n

The Musikgesellschaft Konkordia Mels captivates with outstanding performances by soloists and the entire corps. A concert that made the unique acoustics of the L\u00f6wensaal in the Verrucano resound from the very first note. Entertainment at the highest level.<\/p>\n

The CD of the Gala Concert of the Konkordia Music Society is entertainment at the highest level. In addition to classics such as Shostakovich’s “Second Waltz” or Sinatra’s “My Way” or a fantasy on the opera Carmen for flute and wind orchestra by L. Borne and the more jazzy sounds with a ballad for alto saxophone by A. Reed, two world premieres are also heard: The “Concerto for Piano and Wind Orchestra” by M. Roth, composed especially for the opening and interpreted by himself, and a ballad for flugelhorn, “Lovely to see you”, composed by B. Hidber. The musical realisation of the famous Heidi story by M. B\u00fcrki are another highlight of this CD. In short: a CD with a broad musical palette and performances so typical of the Konkordia that go straight to the heart.<\/p>\n
