Jazz Meets Impressionism

Number of discs: 1

At first it seems strange to imagine that jazz and impressionism have anything in common. However, on closer listening, an amazing number of parallels and syntheses between these two musical styles reveal themselves. For on the one hand, already at the beginning of the 20th century French composers were very open to influences coming from outside of Europe, and on the other, many jazz musicians were becoming interested classical European music.

With works by Claude Debussy, George Gershwin, Carl Nielsen, Astor Piazzolla and others, Duo Oblivion succeeds in creating a homogenous listening experience.
